Glenbow Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 A Pumkin Seed on the dry The Pleasant River. Beautiful scenery out there. Quote
admin Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 That creek looks wicked. Nice shots of the minnow too. I think you actually had a Bluegill there. The PumpkinSeeds have a little orange dot on the edge of the gill plate, but look really close. http://flyangler.ca/index.php?option=com_c...4&Itemid=50 Quote
Glenbow Posted July 23, 2007 Author Posted July 23, 2007 Ya, there's browns in the Pleasant from what I was told, although I didn't get any. They stock a LOT of browns there (Maine) for put & take as they fare better in the warm water. I confimed this with a CO when I got checked. He was real nice & informative too. Pacres, you're probably right on the Bluegill call, my GF always called them Pumkin Seeds growing up, so that's what I thought it was. It actually does look more like a Bluegill now that you called it. Fun little guys as they hit dries skittered on the surface (wouldn't touch it still) but not much fight (or hookset, obviouslyt). Still, for me it is always a thrill to catch a new species & learn some of their intricacies. I included river & bug shots as I thought some would find that of interest. Not too many fish pics though! Quote
