troutman
Thanks to the gentleman that hiked in with me (he told me about this forum). Thanks for the advice - fishing with a dry fly/ bead head nymph landed me two big fish over 13". Could not catch the big trout later at the Elbow River near Cobble Flats. The river was higher later in the day than in the morning.
bigbowtrout
Welcome to the board. I am thinking of riding my bike in there next week. How was the Elbow crossing?
trailhead
Welcome to the board. I am thinking of riding my bike in there next week. How was the Elbow crossing? You can ride across on the bridge at Little Elbow campground and then ride the road on the south side of the Elbow. Takes you right to Quirk. troutman
Welcome to the board. I am thinking of riding my bike in there next week. How was the Elbow crossing? No problem, but the river seems to get higher later in the afternoon. You probably could carry your bike across the river.

darrinhurst
I was actually out at Elbow/Cobble Flats today. Gorgeous weather, couple of nice scenery shots, but no damn fish! Skunked again dammit!! :$*%&: Nice day, but woulda been nice to catch some fish. Ran into another couple on thier way out as well. Had the same luck as me, so I guess I wasn't the only one that got skunked today.
troutman
Monday was the first time I saw fish in that part of the Elbow. The river runs fast there, so not a lot of good holding water?
darrinhurst
I only saw one pool of fairly still water. And even then it was only about six inches deep and nothing in there but rocks. Next time, I'll go a little further down stream. I heard it gets better as you get closer to the falls.
