Brownstone Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 the river is still holding, the vis and levels are still good..I'd say with the rain expected this week and the warmer temps by next weekend she'll have started to rise..my 0.02 Quote
monger Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 It usually really gets going around the long weekend. By then the snow up high starts to melt and we get some good rains. Quote
troutlover Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Tie some big leaches and clousers and get ready to fish the banks hard. Quote
PrarieCreekFlyer Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Bank smash with dark and big imho but pick your spots as they will look for back waters and side seams as the water pressure rises Mike Quote
angler Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Been tracking flows since '98. Run off starts sometime between May 12 and 25 depending on a heat wave of 2 or 3 days of 22oC or better and remaining above 0oC overnight. These conditions are for Banff and higher - where all the snow is. Was out today on the upper Bow - still VERY low but beginning to increase slowly. Hooked and landed 8. 3 on streamers and 5 on dries as a bwo hatch occurred about 2:30 during a drizzle. If I knew how to include some pics I would Quote
