I found out today a friend of mine & her husband just bought a vacation home in Eureka Montana. I've got an open invitation to go down anytime.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any good places to fish in that area?

I need to start planning LOTS of weekend holidays now

Not like I'll ever get the spelling of kookanusa right, but man are there some huge bulls in that lake as well as burbs....I believe squawfish, and we never encountered anything else. If you check the BC regs you should find all the species present, other than that I can't tell you any secrets, as more than one gun fight in town have happened over less. Lucky Lil's is probably the best casino in town and the busch beer is your cheapest!

Congrats on being able to go to the sweet piece of heaven!

I have fished the Bighole with a fella named Jed Fitzpatrick, he lives in Sula, Montana on the East Fork of the Bitteroot river. He has told me that I should definately make a point of fishing the Bitteroot and Rock Creek.

I spent 2 days on the Bighole with Jed and would definately recommend him, the guy works very hard and really knows Western Montana streams.

Jed is an extremely talented guide, and a Biologist...pm me if you would like his number.

You could head to the libby and troy area and fish the kootenai river. There are also some good creeks in the area. If you are looking for some info go to the Kootenai river outfitters website. www.kroutfitters.com
