all i can really suggest is making the head bigger and the rear legs larger and knotted being that those are a hopper's two key features...other than that, that'll do...good tie...

 

EDIT: looking at the pattern again, if you tied that on a larger hook size, filled it out more, and replaced the extended body with a leather strip, you got an easy mouse pattern there.... ;)

I'm sure something will eat that. looks like a nice pattern to fish as it'll be really easy to see..... might be cool with a spun deer hair head and a little bit larger a head but I have a feeling it will catch fish like that...... DBT's note on the back legs might be a good change as well

right on, thanks guys...will try to make knotted legs and a bigger head. takes me about 20+ min to tie them so will try another day...

I like it the way it is. Should float well, the legs will provide alot of movement, not much to not like here. That time will come down if you do a dozen or so......Kerry

I like the extended furled body. It will sit in the water with a splat and that full wing will keep it afloat. Like a real hopper. I've never seen a hopper pattern with an extended body. You may just have something there.
