126barnes Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I'm after hearing that the repairs/replacment take some time to complete and that you may be out of commish. for up to six weeks. So instead of sending my rod to Sage, I just bought a new tip (suspect most brakages are tips) over the phone through their spare tip program. Cost was $50 (4pc Launch) just like the repair and I received it two weeks after purchase. Quote
Nick0Danger Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Do both, you have a then have a spare tip. Or is that what your doing? Quote
hydropsyche Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Sage Launch 4 pc cost $200. Tip cost you $50 (butt, with all the expensive components, cost ???). Sage has a good scam going there. Quote
126barnes Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 I agree, not much of a deal on the lower end rods............but what do you do.................fish a $250 launch or store a $200 graphite stick. I'm just happy I didn't have to wait 6 weeks. Quote
Saltamontes Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 I should try this approach: Sage rep: Thank you for calling Sage, how can I help you? Me: mmmm, I broke a couple of pieces of my rod Sage rep: oh that's too bad, we can mail you a couple of replacement pieces at $50 each. What model is it? Me: it's a Z-Axis, 4 piece 590, I broke the top two pieces, so that will be $ 100 right? Sage rep: that is correct, will do. Two day later, another call to Sage: Sage rep: Thank you for calling Sage, how can I help you? Me: mmmmmmmmm, I broke a couple of pieces of my rod Sage rep: oh, that's too bad, we can mail you the replacement pieces at $ 50 each. What model is it? Me: It's a Sage Z-Axis, 4 piece 590, I broke the bottom two pieces, so that will be $100 right? Sage rep: that is correct, will do. Muaaaaaaaahahahahahaha !!!!!!!!! Somehow I don't think this would work, but the wobbly pops are making me think weird stuff tonight. Thought I's share it with you Quote
headscan Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 That's probably why they make you mail in the broken pieces with the serial number... Quote
