If the new 4wt LL is anywhere close to the old 4wt Sage LL specially in 8 1/2 ft grab one. I've always regretted selling to one I had.

Would totally echo Taco's comments re the old LL line. I have a 398-3LL circa 2010 and it's a great rod. if it were 4pc it would be a perfect dry fly rod.

Thanks for the info fellas. Any chance you guys have tried the new LL? Ive used a few of the older 3 piece LL's and loved em but I haven't been able to try out the new series to compare.

I have not tried it and do not know anyone that ordered one but the whole thought process of them re-introducing it was to build the same rod as the original so I can not imagine it being any different

I am of the opposite thought, I am a Sage fan above all. That said when they have tried to duplicate actions previously they have fallen short.  I prefer the VXP over the XP but hey are not the same, maybe the 690, but the rest of the line wasn't the same.

I think if they went to original graphite III, wrapped on the original mandrels they'd sell a bundle, I don't own a multi million fishing product empire.

Think of an RPL remake, it gives me tingle.

Still have all my original RPL's to go along with the LL's    I have both the XP's and use the VXP's as boat rods  and I like them both.... the VXP's are definitely a little softer in my eyes which is not a bad thing .....
