fishinglibin
Have been invited to a buddies cabin at Diefenbaker Lake. I know it is big water and have never been there. I understand it has Pike, lakers, goldeye and others. He wants to target goldeye. Never fished for them. I will be on the fly and they may spin. Any info is appreciated re the fly weather on board post or pm. Thanks And Eagleflyfisher, will be calling soon.

bowbonehead
Dief flies For goldeye small leach patterns but on a calm day they may take a dry I mostly have fished the typical pike flies when targeting them in the bays but there are lots of Wallys and Sauger so a clauser or zonker is a good bet for them. Where are you fishing Sask landing, Elbow, Riverhurst there still are some tank Rainbows further up the lake I imagine. Good luck and be safe as that Lake can kick up in a hurry
fishinglibin
Thanks mostly out of Sask Landing. I have a 16 ft crestliner jon w motor but he has a much better lake boat. Thinking of still bringing the jon though.
knocksum
Go for the large rainbows in that lake. Not an over fished lake so the big ones are plenty. World record rainbow is from this body of water.
