Muffin Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Hello everyone I got out yesterday to see how Policemens Flats fared after all the flooding. I had been spending a lot of time down there so far this year, I am happy to say it will be fish-able again soon but as for taking boats in and out I don't imagine that is going to happen any day soon. Realistically it may be out of the equation for the rest of 2013. Here is the link to the pictures: http://s1303.photobucket.com/user/russbell1/library/Policemens%20Flats%20July%2011%202013%20Post%20Flood Below please see the pictures, with the addition of my finger on a couple... room for improvement on my picture taking although I believe we all get the idea. . Pointing north down the driving ramp to the parking spot: This picture is pointing west about halfway down the cinder block road. Half of the road is washed away as you can see in the picture above and this new channel was created. Right under neath me is a drainage pipe, I assume the high flow rate through the pipe washed this out, all though it also probably came right over top. This picture is pointing south back at the river it really shows the pipe and how the road fell in: To the east edge of where the boat launch was located: A little more to the west then the previous: Farther west again, this was once a parking lot. It appears the rock wall held but it came over the top and washed away the parking lot before heading back east: Close up: I believe pointing back east again just showing how some of the big trees were uprooted: From the east edge of the parking lot facing West: Big Panoramic, probably worth viewing on photobucket: It is facing south, the left hand side is east and the right hand west. FraserN Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Unreal. Some of the boulders are sizable, but no trouble for the flooding river to pick up and deposit miles downstream at policemans. Quote
Muffin Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 Not a problem Eric. I need to run down again and check it out. Quote
bcubed Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 other then the parking lot (or lack there of), the "launch" is probably designed better now then it was. A lot easier to get out of the flow and into that big back eddy.. Quote

A lot easier to get out of the flow and into that big back eddy.. Ha-ha yeah I did notice that. Last year my buddy and I got an old wooden drift boat and fixed it all up. Waited for the slower water and went from the Glenmore access to Policemens. I was on the paddles and we were all getting comfortable with paddling but needless to say I overshot policemen's and we had to jump out and drag it back up to the take out point. I hope I am not the first person to have that happen to them. Quote
