Glenbow Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I caught this amazing specimen today on the Spey rod on a Streamer in Ghost Lake. I sight fished him in about 12 feet of water - I saw the presentation, the take, and the fight all the way to the net. An amazing experience. Enjoy! He's not gonna win any beauty contests, but I bet I could qualify for a "Craziest Catch On A Spey Rod" Award or something! Quote
brewingup Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 whoa crazy catch Glen. Nice job! In the last photo you look like a handsome George Clooney type chap compared to the ugly mug you're holding up! wtg! Quote
Hawgstoppah Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Oh my god Glen. I just spit out some pepsi on my keyboard. That's awesome. So now what, 2 fish on the spey, a white and a ling??? LMFAO Sorry man. I feel for you. I'll probably end up w/ a sucker while Greg catches steelie after steelie. Quote
Hawgstoppah Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Hey Brewingup, you don't have a larger version of your avatar phto I could see do you? That pic looks cool! Sorry for the thread hijack..... Quote
dryfly Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 Man, talk about "left of center" funky, cult fishing...right up there with "garr on the rope fly." Quote
Glenbow Posted October 14, 2007 Author Posted October 14, 2007 Clive, You just made me choke on my coffee! That's too funny, I might make that the wallpaper on my computer. Brewingup, I was thinking more Pirece Brosnan, but George will suffice (& thanks, it beats Buster Poindexter for sure) Hawg, good luck on getting that sucker. You are obviously not as lucky as me, so you will no doubt be stuck with those nasty chrome fish. Quote
lonefisher Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 hmmm I was thinking more Pee Wee Herman Quote
Glenbow Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 Lone, all this time I thought we were friends. You could have at least given me Mel Gibson or something. I'm never taking you to the secret Burbot hole ever. Quote
esleech Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 What! You put berkley walleye juice on the streamer! Busted! Quote
Glenbow Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 Remember in the 70's that McDonald's had characters for everything? Like Hamburglar, Grimace, Mayor McCheese etc. That last burbot pic reminds me of Mayor McCheese. Same head, but waaaaay nastier goatee. Quote
admin Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Sweet catch Glen. I aspire to someday catch a lota lota on the fly. Quote
ham Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Thats one hell of an ugly slimy bastard! p.s im referring to the fish haha. Incase there was any doubt... Quote
Glenbow Posted October 17, 2007 Author Posted October 17, 2007 Oh Ham, you kill me. Pacres, let me tell you there's a 'Lota Lota' slime on that fish. Quote
flyangler Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Hawgstoppah- my first two fish on the spey rod were dead. Even a freakin' eelpout would be better than that. Quote
Glenbow Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 Flyangler, you are clearly cursed. Stop fishing immediately and send all your gear to me for proper disposal. Quote
ladystrange Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 and your fly tying gear to me for proper disposal as well. since you would no longer be needing it. Quote
SteveM Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 and your fly tying gear to me for proper disposal as well. since you would no longer be needing it. No, no, no!!! That won't do at all! If Flyangler sends Glen all her fishing gear for "proper disposal", then she won't be fishing anymore. This will free up lots of extra time to devote to tying flies...which she can send to me for "proper disposal". F'rinstance, yesterday, I disposed of 3 nymphs on one breakoff. Quote
