Got out with Rickr for a few hours yesterday.

Some images from the day...

First fish of the day didn't take long; I got this feisty rainbow...

Rickr nymphs a run...

I stuck a big ole kype-jawed brown that jumped at least half a dozen times before coming unbuttoned.

Rick hooked a good brown & brought this nice 22"er to hand...

The action slowed down & Rick had to head out; I decided to hit another spot on my way home...

Beautiful brown. One of the best browns I've seen in a long time.

Thanks for the day Steve.

And too bad Steve did not land his brown. It was certainly bigger than mine, and put on quite the aerial display for the first weekend in March.

Welcome to the board Travis. I take it you don't know about the Bow river? You will soon enough

Awesome pictures! Where was this at?

The river really isn't all that complicated Travis. There are literally hundreds of spots as good as this one. Honestly, from the weir in Calgary to the weir in Carseland, The Bow is loaded with fishable water. On this day, we started fishing in slow inside water (walking speed current, 3 to 4 feet of water). That was good through the early afternoon. As the day went on fish moved into slightly faster water than I would have thought as the day never got very warm. The brown was in what I would almost call summer water. No deeper than 2 feet, and pretty fast current.

I don't know if this is the brown I hooked last week, but he was in the same spot.

24 inches of goodness...

In the first pic, it kinda looks like the trout is laid on the ice. It's actually the edge of an ice shelf that's partially submerged.

You can see the water in this pic...

Figured I'd better add that before that dang BBT starts yankin' pics & reminding me of the rules... :angel:smail:

what a wicked fish! well done!

Thanks, Brian.

It was a pretty good day, by my admittedly low standards.

I also got this little brown with a big appetite...

...then, this 21" brown. Hooked another heavy fish on the next cast; it peeled off into the middle of the river, then came undone.

Finished with this 23" brown...

One more look at the 24"er...

Nice fish! I've been out of the loop for a while now, but will be dusting off the ol' rod and the tying gear very soon. Pics like this just make a guy want to go out and slay a few bows and browns!
