CopperJonny Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Funny thing , I was swinging on the main river in Langley over the holidays....Derby Reach to be exact . So I'm pounding the water working with a skagit and MOW setup ....few headshakes , fail to set the hook properly with a fleshfly....have a gander upriver and a couple of hundred metres are a pair of fellas , one has a big ole spincast , the other a fly rod sitting on there hanger rod holders ....boys are just chillin by the fire and i see em jump up and run to the rods....there pulling em in left and right......15-16" cutts i manage to make it over to the fire and am relieved to get some warmth as were chatting.....the fly guy is showing me his " real" steelheaders reel , centerpin and all dragless....i was slightly impressed .....until this fella decided it was time to pull in his..."nymph" I **** you not , this fella had on his leader a Pickerel rig with some real eggs and spray on ...with a big ole heavy weight on the bottom ..........I couldnt believe what i was seeing....What a croc ! ..... nice guy and all , i still laugh when i think about it..........whats next Quote
