I drove thru a snowstorm last Wednesday (Sept 12) from Maycroft to Okotoks!!! I am putting the tent away. I froze my butt Sun-Tues this week in Elklford.

I have one week at the beginning of October -- my first week of holidays in Alberta in over a year. I'll even go fishing the "Edmonton way" (trolling by snowmobile) if I have to!

camping, hunting season is just starting for me. love the winter camping. i'm going to do one more campiing fishing trip south to castle mt area in oct. nice to hear no one will be around. all those fish just for me

That is such a beautiful area, ladystrange. But as the locals say to us every year "a grizzly got a cow there just last week". Just passing it on.

 

My usual approach to winter is to build a fire, circle the easy chair, and settle in with a cup of cocoa and a purring cat. But we have friends who can talk me into crazy things and this year, they're talking winter camping and ice fishing for lakers. I must be strong.

Wow I totaly called it. That makes it what..... 4 years in a row now that there has been snow in the middle of the month. Like I said, it was bound to happen
