matt1984
My girlfriend caught this fish last weekend and was asking me what kind it was, her uncle said it was a ling cod but it looks different then ones I have seen. I have never fished in the ocean before but I figured someone here would know.thanks
CDone
Looks like one of the many varieties of Rock Fish that inhabit the Pacific NW, Canary or Yellow eye would be my guess. Tastes like snapper and are usually sold as such. Colin

ladystrange
looks like a rock cod to me also. except not as red. so where was she fishing, what was the bait, how deep and how far from shore? used to catch them off the dock in pender harbour. no one told me about catch and release when i was 6. they can stay alive in a bucket of water in the hot sun on a dock for hours. kinda boney, not much meat.
