I've had great luck with micro leeches and small streamers and in the summer dries (caddis, stimmies, ants, bwos, royal coachman, green/brown drakes, adams [both standard and irresistible], pmds, mosquitos, grif gnats, etc). P whats your top flies for alpine lake trout>?
hairygrump
whats your top flies for alpine lake trout>? depends on the time of year. Spring time, I like to use micro leechs & various beadhead nymphs. Summer time, all of the former plus mayflies of all varieties. Fall, I couldn't tell you, I'm on the river. Have a look at Brian Chan's book, probably the best breakdown on lake fishing I've ever seen.

The book is full of tips on what to use + a great discussion of why goats are the best pack animal. http://www.amazon.com/Fishing-Mountain-Lak...1820&sr=1-
