Storing Lines In The Garage In Winter

My rods n reels are all together in my garage in the constant cold. Other than a bit of line memory, what are my major issues going to be? All my lines seem to be cracked. I'm not even sure they are that old.

I find that if it gets too cold, my fly lines get brittle and have the cracking you observe in relatively new line. That is why I don't fish the river in winter, unless its in a chinook.

I store my lines inside and I do fish the winter when I can. My lines last a great many years. But I also attribute it to line care, cleaning etc.
