SanJuanWorm Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 My rods n reels are all together in my garage in the constant cold. Other than a bit of line memory, what are my major issues going to be? All my lines seem to be cracked. I'm not even sure they are that old. Thank you Quote
FraserN Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I find that if it gets too cold, my fly lines get brittle and have the cracking you observe in relatively new line. That is why I don't fish the river in winter, unless its in a chinook. Quote
SilverDoctor Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I store my lines inside and I do fish the winter when I can. My lines last a great many years. But I also attribute it to line care, cleaning etc. Quote
