What Is The Truth About The H1n1 Flu?

Yup, remember Y2K and the hype in the media abut it??? All blown out of whack

See I think that illustrates something that people don't understand.

I worked in IT during the run up to Y2K, there were real problems that need to be addressed. The thing is, the techie types knew this and we had known about it for 10 years but we couldn't get anything done about it. It wasn't until the hype machine kicked in and everyone was running around like a moron that we got the money and support to do what we needed to do. It was a massive over reaction, there were plenty of scumbags that took advantage but the work that needed to be done got done.

Looking back I often wonder if we'd been able to deal with the problems we needed to if the hype hadn't been there. It comes back to bread and circuses, you have to scare the hell out of people to get them off their buts. I often think of this when I see things like H1N1 and climate change today.

OK.

Our Nurse/health care professional gave a talk and answer session yesterday.

Her jist was that the flu is mild, severely affects 1 in 1000. Main cause of death is pneumonia and only if not treated quickly. This flu is not expected to be as bad as others but is deemed a pandemic as it spreading around the world.

She did advocate flu shots but said that the recommendation is to get the H1N1 instead of the regular flu. Reasons were that the vaccine has immune boosters...I think just extra stuff to make your immune system respond and as such can wear your body down and make it succeptible to infection for a bit. Therefore if getting the regular shot to wait a while.

Being as the regular flu is more deadly that H1N1 I still did not understand why they are pushing one over the other.

I still feel like public pressure is forcing this...maybe cause the government already paid millions for the vaccines... Gotta get me stock in that company.

******

Then one of the guys in the office who is fanatical against flu shots sent this out...

******************************************************************

Vaccine Revolt

Being told "take the swine flu vaccine or lose your job" has got some of New York state's 65,000 nurses angry enough to take the state to court.

Washington State: 16,000 Nurses File lawsuit over Mandatory Flu Vaccine.

Flu Shot Paralyzes Woman for Life? It is truely tragic to see something like this happen to such a beautiful young woman.

Even the vacinne manufactures have warned their families not to take the shots.

"A state judge in Manhattan Wednesday ordered a full evidentiary hearing on a state health regulation that requires nurses to be immunized against the swine flu."

And that's just the tip of the iceberg as people everywhere start to question why vaccination, which has a documented history of causing illness and death, should now be forced on front line health workers, infants and pregnant women.

As this site points out, the real facts of history have been hidden from view, or turned into distortions of the truth,

[ "The National Anti-Vaccination League estimated smallpox vaccination was causing the deaths of 25,000 children in 1880.... at the height of compulsory vaccination, which led to the repeal of the compulsory vaccination acts.

"Vaccination only survives on great lies such as (smallpox) vaccination saved millions. You can see some of the diseases spread by smallpox vax here, including leprosy, TB and syphilis.]

And here we are, 130 years later, seeing nurses (and who is next?) being forced to take an untested vaccine.

No wonder the Vaccine Revolt Is Under Way And Gathering Pace.

Swine flu vaccine support crumbles as flimsy rationale for H1N1 shots becomes apparent.

Monday, October 12, 2009 by: Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews)--Public support for the swine flu vaccine is evaporating by the day as the rationale for the vaccine appears increasingly ludicrous to anyone paying attention.

Moms, nurses, day care workers and members of the general public are increasingly realizing that Big Pharma's rationale for swine flu vaccination just doesn't add up.

Recent polls conducted by the mainstream media indicate that more than fifty percent of moms are refusing to expose their children to the swine flu vaccine, and nurses and health practitioners across the US and UK are going vocal with their opposition to the vaccine.

Legal action against the FDA's approval of the swine flu vaccine is already underway and public protests are gaining momentum in raising awareness about the primary objections to the swine flu vaccine. Intelligent, informed people everywhere are saying NO to this vaccine!

Popular support for the vaccine is crumbling by the day, and health authorities are now turning to exaggerated scare stories to try to drum up demand for their vaccines. Where scientific credibility is lacking, fear is being invoked in its place.

Why the swine flu vaccine doesn't add up.

So why is the justification for the swine flu so flimsy?

It all comes down to these five crucial reasons being pushed by the vaccine industry... but as you'll see below, each of these five reasons is demonstrably false!

Reason #1) The H1N1 swine flu pandemic is dangerous and deadly!

Why it's flimsy: While the infection rate of H1N1 is currently high, the fatality rate is remarkably low. In fact, it's no higher than a normal, seasonal flu.

Reason #2) The vaccine protects you from the virus!

Why it's flimsy: There is absolutely no scientific evidence demonstrating that the swine flu vaccine offers real-world protection against the circulating H1N1 virus.

While there is evidence showing that it produces antibodies, as people who have studied vaccine effectiveness already know, the mere existence of vaccine-induced antibodies doesn't directly translate into functional, real-world immunity! Vaccines are often, in effect, fabricated immunity that often don't provide practical immune defense in the real world.

Reason #3) The vaccine is perfectly safe, even for kids!

Why it's flimsy: This reason is truly laughable. None of these vaccines have been properly safety tested by the FDA or the drug companies.

They were approved by the FDA with a waiver, utterly bypassing the normal process of long-term safety testing that the public expects the FDA to enforce.

In fact, according to attorney Jim Turner, the FDA's baseless approval of these swine flu vaccines is a violation of federal law.

http://www.naturalnews.com/027205_vaccines...lu_the_FDA.html

(See lawsuit filed)

Reason #4) There's nothing else you can do to protect yourself from the swine flu (therefore you must take the vaccine shot).

Why it's flimsy: This reason is an outright lie.

In order to sell more vaccines, the pharmaceutical industry (and all its bureaucratic cohorts at the CDC and WHO) are intentionally keeping people ignorant of far safer and more effective options such as vitamin D and anti-viral herbal remedies.

Reason #5) If you don't take the vaccine shot, you're being unethical by placing the shot burden on everyone else without taking it yourself.

Why it's flimsy: Hilarious! This is marketing by guilt -- trying to arm-twist people into the vaccine shot by making them feel guilty if they don't.

The truth is that you're being unethical if you DO get the shot because you're financially supporting a dangerous and highly deceptive vaccine industry that's causing tremendous harm to children, expectant mothers and other innocent vaccination victims.

Hoping to improve your health by handing money to the pharmaceutical industry through the purchase of vaccines is sort of like hoping to create world peace by writing a check to weapons manufacturers.

No good reason to get the vaccine

Is there any good reason to get the swine flu vaccine?

Not based on the current situation, no. Unless you have a strong desire to play Russian Roulette with your health, of course.

Of course, if things dramatically change, there could be increasingly strong reasons for considering a vaccine.

If the H1N1 virus mutates into a virus with a very high fatality rate, things might be different.

If the vaccine were proven safe with adequate long-term testing, that would be something working in its favor.

If the vaccines were scientifically shown to actually protect you from the virus, then that would be different, too.

But to date, none of these things are verifiably true!

The vaccines haven't been properly tested at all.

There's no honest evidence demonstrating that they protect you from the swine flu.

And the flu has such a low fatality rate, why does a vaccine matter in the first place?

Keep in mind that over 2,000 people die each year from taking aspirin.

Over 100,000 Americans are killed each year from taking doctor-prescribed, FDA-approved prescription drugs.

If the people at the CDC are looking for a pandemic, they should be focusing on the pandemic of disease mongering and pharmaceutical pushing that's taking place across the world right now in the context of the swine flu pandemic.

There is a real pandemic afoot, though... a pandemic of B.S. running rampant across America and the UK.

It's an infectious form of pharmaceutical quackery that spreads from one person to another at the speed of propaganda. Symptoms of infection include a loss of rational thinking, swine flu hysteria and an irrational belief in symbols of authority.

What we really need in America is a vaccine that protects consumers' brains from infectious pharmaceutical quackery.

Then again, if we actually injected people with that, the whole drug industry would collapse overnight. That's because Big Pharma runs on propaganda.

And the propaganda we're seeing with this swine flu vaccine push is so thick with unjustifiable speculation that it probably deserves a Nobel Peace Prize or something.

The truth about H1N1 is that they're sensationalizing it to convince everyone to get the vaccine. That's their cover to inject the tracking chips in everyone. Fortunately a good tin foil hat will block the signal.

Seriously it's called cya. The media already made a huge deal out of it so if govts do nothing and a lot of people die they can kiss their reelection hopes goodbye.

Those chips are no BS either...here is a tv commercial for it already!

I almost think governments have spent so much money on the flu shots that they feel they have to get used up. Obama called the flu season a national health emergency.

I get the paranoid delusion that either:

1. This flu is sooooooo badddddd that the governments don't want to start a panic so this is their "soft sell";

2. This flu is just a great test run to try a nation wide immunization program;

3. There is an agenda in the minds of some health professionals that this is in our best interest and they need to ram that home and stick it to us; or

4. ?????? Fill in the blank yourself!

I'll still get my shot. Always a fringe element that sees the boogeyman in everything. I'm sure if Polio were still around this same crowd would be telling me not to get the vaccine as it's all a conspiracy.

Can we set up an area on the board for Conspiracy Theories? Vaccines, Global Warming and renegade NHL bosses would then have a place to reside.

Oh, my wife is a nurse too. Pretty sure she's taking the needle.

I had been getting the regular flu shot via my employer for the last number of years. Didn't get it this year, and I don't plan on getting the H1N1 shot either. I'll try and remember to check in a year or two from now and let you know if I noticed a difference. The confusion about this vaccine is certainly snowballing.. the fact that it seems to be 50/50 even among the health care workers definitely doesn't help us average joe's make a decision either! I don't think there's a blanket "right answer". Do your own research, and then make the decision that's right for YOU. Other people shouldn't criticize you one way or the other, it's YOUR decision, not theirs.

I had my seasonal flu shot last week (and lived to tell), and I'll be getting my H1N1 shot as soon as it's available. As one who lived through the years before polio vaccine, I have a strong appreciation for the huge impact that vaccinations have had on public health. And I also understand that if the full benefit of any vaccine is to be achieved, it is necessary that a very high percentage of the population be vaccinated. It is truly ironic that we have several generations of people who have avoided many significant diseases because they were vaccinated when young, and because they're healthy now, they question the need for vaccines. I've heard people say things like "I'm going to trust my immune system." Well guess what, your immune system won't prevent you from getting H1N1 flu or any other flu; it might quicken your recovery -- key word is might. Folks, it is very simple, cut through all the BS that is being spread by people who have no medical qualifications, listen to the public health experts, and get your H1N1 flu shot. Terry

I've NOT had my season flu shot last week or for the past few years (and lived to tell) NOR will I be getting a vaccination for a virus that is 1/100 as fatal as the regular flu or twice as fatal as ASPRIN.

Want to buy a bridge ?

Never had a flu shot and don't foresee myself getting one anytime soon - including H1N1. I haven't been sick with so much as a cold in almost 2 years (boy...am I asking for it now or what). I'm in good general health, I don't take public transit, nor do I have several young children in my house to bring it home - so I feel my risks are lower than the general pop. For me, personally, I believe that eating healthy and exercising (for the most part) as well as washing my hands ALOT is the key to staying flu-free for me. But everyone has to make their own decisions based on their lifestyles as well. Oh ya...and I"m going to Mexico for 2 weeks in January and not even worried about it one bit. I can't stand media hype - and if you listen to the statistics then that's all I consider it - hype.

No thanks, I've got all the bridges I need.

Interesting data you have on the risk of death from H1N1 flu -- what medical journal did you find it in? Oh, by the way, would you like to comment on the two teenagers in Ontario who died from H1N1 in the last two days? According to news reports, both were perfectly healthy individuals who came down with flu symptoms and were dead within 48 hours.

I don't dispute that we all have to make our own personal decision about whether or not to get an H1N1 flu vaccination. However, make it an informed decision, which for me means giving the highest level of credibility to the views of medical specialists.

Terry,

Why should I listen to Medical Professionals on the subject of Vaccines when I can listen to Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carry on the subject? I mean, they are celebrities and well informed.

Emotion generally trumps logic. This is a classic example.

Rick, right on -- you've got it figured.  And while you're at it, would you please give us all a lesson on the difference between probability and risk. I think there are some folks here who need a few lectures on risk management. :) Terry

Ahh, another subject near and dear to my heart. I used to facilitate different types of risk management meetings.

I know I sounded sarcastic about the emotion, but as I've said on this board in the past, emotion clouds our perception of risk. It somehow seems worse, and therefore riskier, to some people to run the risk of dying from the vaccine than dying from not taking the vaccine. Don't know why that is, but it is.

Google "Australia flu season" and review the real numbers from their government (Department of Health and Ageing) vs their predictions.

Have a look at the CBS documentary on statistical reporting in the US at mercola.com.

Apply the same ratios to Canada and sleep well whether you got the shot or not.

That seems very complicated. Why not just consult these guys about what to do. Terry

I don't like needles.... or 6 hour waits to get a needle (our admin assistant waited 6 hours in Lethbridge because of the unorganized gong show. That's six hours exposed to every sickness that pasted through those doors).

Stay away from Sundance!

25% of the school population down here is now absent due to H1N1. The numbers are so high that for 1 school if we had 10 extra absences that the school legally would of had to shut the doors and cancel classes due to this.

STAY AWAY... WE ARE INFECTED! H1N1 doesn't infect...drippy nosed kids infect!

"I am Legend be dammed"!...Anyone see "Night of the Living Dead"?

This is what makes me laugh, amid all the hysteria and panic everyone rushes to go hang out with a thousand people coughing and breathing on you. #1 place to contract the virus is in the lineup for the vacc. in my opinion. Dummies.

As a specialist in Respirology (ie lung medicine), I would heartily disagree with many of the anti-flu shot comments posted. I am presently working in one of the province's ICUs, and can attest firsthand to the severity and rapidity of progression of illness seen in the H1N1 outbreak. The points of concern are that medical professionals are not able to predict which persons with the infection will develop rapidly into respiratory failure, nor do we have terribly effective treatment for the patients needing the highest levels of treatment. The antiviral medications don't get people off ventilators either. When severe lung reactions occur, people need vents for long periods, and they are dying on the vents as well. We are at the crest of the wave of H1N1, and there will not be sufficient medical providers or hospital beds to meet the demands of the very sick if correct public health measures (like vaccinations) are not used by the population. Let me pose a question to naysayers - when was the last time you saw a really good case of polio? You can thank vaccinations.
