kipper Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I am wondering if there is a wholesale store or business where a person can buy flytying materials online? I have been trying to find a wholesaler but so far it appears they only sell to businesses. Any information would be appreciated. Thank-you in advance. Quote
rundleff Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I don't think you'll find any wholesalers who sell to individuals. Most require a business registration # and have minimums you need to meet per order. Are you just looking for something in particular or trying to save some coin? Quote

You answered your own question.......must be a licensed business or dealer, I tried as a business and was declined as I am not a dealer. You can't be just any business in most cases you must be in the fishing retail business Quote
kipper Posted October 4, 2009 Author Posted October 4, 2009 okay ..well that explains alot thanks for the insight. As an alternative what stores would be recommended if a person were looking for materials to purchase via mail order? The problem I am having is I live near Medicine Hat and there aren't any retail stores that sell Fly Tying materials - there is one but their inventory is extremely small. Thanks. Quote
headscan Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 You could try contacting the shops in Calgary and see if they'll do a phone or email order and ship it to you. Edit: Fish Tales and Country Pleasures both have an online store on their websites. That might work for you. Quote
Golfman09 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I have ordered from either of those online and was quite impressed....also Thorne's Manufacturing that has an online store as well. Quote
murray Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I've bought lots from Thorne's Manufacturing in the past and been quite happy with them. The prices are good, and they have an excellant selection. I started buying from their postings on E Bay as well as going directly to their on line store. Murray Quote
Jayhad Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Thorne's Manufacturing super easy to deal with and gets the small orders out fast Quote
