Floated from the weir to Glenmore today and saw a handful of dead rainbows in that stretch too. At least we are supposed to be getting some rain and cooler temperatures this week.

I also came across a large dead trout today at Policeman's in the shallow water. He was starting to decay pretty good but I think it was a brownie.

Maybe a bird injured it and it did not recover, or maybe it was just old and had one last hook up before he retired his number...grin

We floated Douglasdale to Mac yesterday. Saw one floater - a 17 inch rainbow. Was kinda cool seeing a hawk diving for it a couple of times but coming up empty. Caught a couple of big fish and, after an abbreviated fight (i.e. I horsed them in ), they swam away with as much spunk as they fought with....no lethargy at all. Closer to the banks the water is warmer, but overall I wouldn't say that it was all that warm yesterday. Mind you - you wouldn't know by all the friggin' weeds. Again.

We were there from around 12:30pm to about 4pm I think..
