  1. Go to the alberta river basins website, click on the stream in question. You can choose weekly or monthly graphs or the data table. Select data table - download the data via csv (excel). Should be easy to compare exact days to previous years but if you want to analyze the data in weekly incremental then I would recommend doing a =week() function on the date column and then you can run =averageif() or =index(,match(,,)) function to aggregate it in an excel table. Hope this helps.
  2. Thanks all for your input, I really appreciate it! My Taco is a 4x4 standard and I am running 90% tread Bridgestone Blizzaks in the winter so I am not too worried about snow and ice performance. I have some old Goodyear Wranglers on the truck right now... balanced, plenty of tread life left and no cupping (as far as I can tell) but I was advised by a mechanic that I should run something less aggressive because the "rough tread on the wrangler A/T adventure is hard on the suspension" after he noticed my front & rear struts/shocks need replacing. In my opinion they are not very rough and it sounded like a sales pitch for new tires, I am fairly mechanically inclined and will be replacing the struts/shocks myself (easy on a gen 1 taco) and upon closer inspection the struts/shocks are OEM Toyota struts that the previous owner just never bothered to replace. However, that being said, I am not opposed to replacing them if its a bit better on gas/quieter ride and I would be interested to hear what everyone thinks about running an A/T tire with newer technology vs a smoother highway tire like a Michelin defender or something?
  3. Hey All, I just bought a 2002 Tacoma with low km's and I am starting to outfit it for fly fishing. Right now it has some old Goodyear Wranglers on it with very rough tread and I figure they will be pretty hard on the suspension with the amount of highway driving I will be doing. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a light truck tire that would be good on highway and capable on the trunk road & where you recommend buying tires from? I am still in school so if anyone knows any good wholesalers with good product that would be great. Thanks!
  4. I was out on the same stream on April 17th- April 30th constantly last year (digitally tagged photos) and I have a feeling that everything seems to be delayed by ~2 weeks hatch wise. A buddy and I think day one of last years Bow River stone-fly hatch was July 4th- we were nymphing black/golden stones all day and there was no stones on the surface until 10pm that night when we were leaving. The following week the new blew up on social media and on here about the good surface action. It will be interesting to see when the stones come out this year like they did last.. I think it would be no surprise to anyone if it is later. Ill set the over/under bets on July 18th
  5. On a positive note I saw a ton of BWO hatching and a variety of a other insect activity on the banks.
  6. South Central streams are very high and dirty too, took a drive north of Calgary on Sunday and there is a lot of water moving down ditches and into those streams. Vis was sub 3".
  7. I pulled out a 20" Bull around Carseland in 2015 fall. Definitely a bit of a shock.
  8. Pulled out an old roller skate and some scissors using a streamer in the same day
  9. Used GoPros extensively for skiing and the pole mounts are fun to play around with but in my experience the chest mount is the way to go if you can get the angle right. Could be more convenient to switch the camera on as well if you want to get some footage after setting the hook.
  10. I know a few of the Rangers up in the RMH area and they have been doing some great work up there. It would be nice to see the same motivation down south.
  11. Thanks so much for the tips I really appreciate it!
  12. I am heading to Medicine Hat for Business in a week and I was hoping to bring my gear with me (I'll have nothing else to do). Has anyone fished this area and would be able to point me in the right direction? I haven't fished the south Sask before so I'm not even sure what I'd be targeting
