  1. Very nice. Thank you
  2. awesome, thank you very much.
  3. Need some advice on attaching the preformed foam bodies to the hook.If I try to tie them on, they deform. I have tried to attach the hook, and legs with crazy glue, then after it dries, put a bit of epoxy overtop of the hook and legs. What do you guys do? Thanx in advance.
  4. I thought it was a very good show, and well organized. There was some empty space though.what would be the opinion, of having a doz. or so tables dedicated to a trading section, for people trying to move, used, rods, reels and gear.might peak a bit of interest, as well as take up the empty space.
  5. First time to the show for me.I went yesterday, before it got crowded and enjoyed looking at all the displays. I got to cast a Sage method 590, as well as the new Hardy Wraith. It was very nice to be able to cast the two rods that I am most interested in, side by side. All in all I was quite happy with the show, and hope to attend again next year.
  6. Not sure if many others have used this discount fly company, or not. I stumbled upon them last week, they have a very nice selection of Flys, around $.60 ea. As well as a lot of other fly fishing items for sale. I made an order, and within an hour was notified, that my Flys had been shipped, with a tracking #. The flys arrived yesterday, and appear to be reasonable quality, for the price. They also have some well written articles, on fly fishing in general. Just thought I would pass this on, as it may interest, some forum members. Spurly
  7. I agree with you. It seems certain people on that site wake up in the morning just looking for a fight. There are still a ton of good people there who will go out of their way to help, and a lot of their best people have quit out of frustration. I think that happens to a lot of forums that get too big, too quick.I very seldom post on AO anymore, and will not put up pics of anything, that's when all hell breaks loose. This forum is has a lot more relaxed attitude, with very knowledgable people, always willing to help or share ideas. Very positive experience so far.
  8. I just went through this process, there are so many good boots out there now it is tough to find the right pair. Try on as many as you can, and walk around the store a little, to see how they feel. In my case I went for the Simms Riverteck 2 with BOA, I liked that they were light, and had drain holes built in. I love the BOA system, I bought mine with felt soles, but with rubber soles they would for sure fill your need as a hiking boot. I have put about 40 days on them, with no issues what so ever. Try as many as you can, and buy what suits, your specific needs.
  9. Shimano Canada I believe.
  10. I have been using 7 strand Titanium leaders, 30lb. Test. They are about $6 at WSS, have had very good luck with them attached to about 6ft. Of 30lb. Mono.
  11. I a running, a TFO- BVK 890 for a pike rod, as well as a Hardy Zenith 7wt. 9.5 ft, they both chuck streamers very well, the TFO, rated very well on the 8wt. Flyrod shootout done by Yellowstone angler, beating out rods, that are selling for twice as much. My next streamer rod, will be for Bulls, and will be a TFO Impact in 6 wt. The Flyrod shootouts that Yellowstone does are very informative, articles with tons of info.
  12. I had the chance to fish for the day, with my buds, Impact today.I own, Loop, Sage, and Hardy rods, and let me say, for the money, I was very impressed. The new cork handle, looks, and feels great. A big improvement, to the cork, on my BVK rods. The rod I fished, is a 6wt. And it chucks line very well, in a straight line, exactly where you point it. It takes very little effort to cast, and also casts very smoothly. It handles the fish, very well, has, nice balance, and most of all a reasonable price. I think TFO has come up with a tremendous rod, that most people can afford, and in my opinion, can compete, with some of the higher end rods, out there. I will for sure be buying one, maybe even two, in the very near future. If you have not tried one of these impact rods, do yourself a favour, and cast one. If you are in the market for a new rod, don't overlook the Impact.
