  1. Was out last weekend swinging leeches had one grab. The river was high and vis sucked.
  2. I use switch rods on the coast for Salmon/Steelhead and in the Bow. They are ideal for fishing small runs or where you don't have muck room to make a D loop. I can chuck streamers with a 10th of the effort of a single hand and likely am able to cast twice as fast. The best part is the amount of control you have over the fish when you are bringing them in, I hooked into a Chinook last year in a small run and I can assure you would not have landed it with a single hand.
  3. Anyone know a good place to get aluminum welded? Thanks!
  4. I have got a Fish Cat Cougar... It's bad ass!
  5. Learn to fish with a double hand rod and it will make that golf obsession look like a fling!
  6. If it's not a click and pawl I don't want it.
  7. Honestly the Bow is not that bad. A few times people have jumped in front of me in a run or floated through something I was fishing. I deal with it by telling them off or casting at them. Try fishjng the Vedder in early January, it's nuts! There is nothing wrong with jet boats I've seen them used in smaller rivers than the Bow.
  8. I'll fish as long as my guides don't freeze up. Last winter I caught the biggest fish I have ever got on the Bow in Febuary.
  9. So let me get this straight. A guy buys a jet boat so he can fish as efficiently as possible and you want him to not do this so you feel better about yourself? Perhaps focus on landing fish and not bitching about what other people are doing, it's a dog eat dog world.
  10. Does anyone know if it's possible to launch a boat there now or is there too much ice?
  11. I have a 450 of that line on a super cheap St Croix switch rod I have and I really like it! I have a 420 compact skagit I use on the same rod, I do like the switch line better.
  12. I tried to fish a switch for bulls a few times... Not good. Set a single hand rod up with a shooting head, it's the most efficient I find.
  13. How do you snag with no hook? I kid!
  14. I have one of those rods, great for just about anywhere. I've been fishing it all winter in the Bow.
  15. Got this bad boy today! Some nice spots and color.
  16. Spend the money and get guide series Simms.
