  1. I think we should add one more factor into this, and that is that browns are a non-native species. I know that the rainbows are not native to the bow, but at least they are native to this part of the world, and as a result they could be more resistant to this type of fungus. Browns are not native to North America at all, and maybe that makes them more susceptable to deseases that occur here.
  2. Everyone needs to post our comments on his youtube channel and encourage him to invest in a net and some pliers! I can't believe someone would post a video like that in the first place, but I guess there is no shortage of idiots in this world, just look at reality TV!
  3. Personally, I would never go closer than casting distance to someone that is anchored. That being said however, if someone is anchored over a shoal, I would make sure that I didn't pass over the shoal, as that can disturb the fish that might be cruising the shallow water, thereby ruining the fishing for those that are fishing the shoal (even if they are out of casting distance).
  4. Hard to tell exactly from that pic but, I agree that it would seem to be a lake whitefish. As already mentioned rockies have a blueish or reddish spot in their cheek.
  5. I hate the vibram soles!! They absolutely do not grip as well as felt soles. With studs in them they are alright, but I hate having studs in my boots when I am hiking long distances on some of the mountain streams I fish. The best boots I ever had were the leather gary borger boots with the studded felt soles, they gripped great in the river and were soft enough when hiking that the studs didn't bother me too much. Plus, the leather boot itself lasted forever and replacement felts were dirt cheap! I think the best solution is the new korkers, that way you can put on the hiking soles when hiking and then switch to studded soles or felt when wading. Like others have said, studded soles and boats don't go together very well.
  6. I was out at crawling on the wknd to see if I could chase up some pike. Kinda slow for the pike, needs to cool down a bit more and kill off the algae bloom, but I also found the walleye and saved a slow pike day with a few walleye. Caught them all on a minnow plattern I tie that looks like a whitefish. With this cold front moving through it might be really good fishing out at crawling this wknd! Just curious where you were fishing on crawling? I usually fish up at the north end of the lake on the west side, although the east side out from the entrance to the big bay can be excellent at times as well.
  7. Awsome pics! These fish come on the dry or nymph?
