Most times, if I remember, I pack an extra meal for dinner if I know I'm gonna head to the river after work. I'll get to the river, sit on the bank at the first location I plan to fish and eat. I like doing this because it let's me kinda plan my approach on that particular piece of water. I get to see what bugs are flying around me, as well as watching the water and seeing if there is any activity on the surface, which saves me from just jumping in on a feeding trout.

Had a 18" cuttbow jump a foot above my head on the Highwood once, and I was standing on the bank! To get an idea on how high that is, I'm 5'7" (guess that's not that high haha). Also, I had a 20" plus brown almost slap me in my face on the bow a few weeks ago.

I have a pair of Maui Jim's with the Maui HT lens and they are phenomenal!

From what I know, water has reached the houses near carburn Park and all along the bow side. Power is out on the west side of Riverbend

Wow! that's all I gotta say.

I usually hook into one or two of em in the spring, big ones too! But they don't really fight much, most of the time I think i'm hooked into a log or something until it starts swimming of course lol
