  1. I had knee surgery last year just a minor surgery but my knee does not work as well bending and walking around the rocks. My question is what's the best bang for buck do you get a collapsible or just a old ski pole or a hiking pole.Is it worth carrying it around with you or is it just easier to struggle a little bit. Just looking for thoughts and opinions thanks everybody.

  2.

That rowing frame sounds very interesting. I would greatly appreciate a picture when you get finished. Send me a note when your done, maybe we can get together for a coffee and chat.

No problem I'll give you a pm when I'm done just working on final angles for the rowing part.if you look on Kijji there's a zodiac with a rowing frame my designs a lot different but pretty close to the same I have a lots of extra zodiac material to mount the frame on as well if decide to build one.I should be done in the new year I'll pm you.O think I'm just going to rock guard the whole frame as well the put aluminum checker where ever possible to class it up.Its a 1978 zodiac believe it or not
  3. If you can weld or or know a welder it's pretty easy to build a rowing frame for your zodiac as well. I'm just about complete and I'm at about 150 in total for mine at the very most I used electrical conduit as my main frame and there were about 6$ a peice and I bought two seats with swivels they were about 80 bucks for two just watch sales at bass pro and the casting bar was a little more money as its made out of aluminum.I can send you pics when I'm done and get a idea if that's something your interested in I call it the poor mans drift boat lol but it will do until this economy picks back up.Im a welder in the tanker industryl lol.If you do want to build one once you get a boat pm me I'll give you a hand or I can build one for you.

  4. Just a thought if the laws are and place along with the rap phone number and the possibility to collect video info on phones as evidence and proper warning signs of the laws at key locations and anglers all police other anglers and be vigil about it we can pick up the slack from the missing officers as best as possible I agree that there should be some sort of law or something protecting people who do take a guided trip so that both the angler and the guide are protected. The Main reason for this post was that we have such a amazing fisherie right out our back doors and after the epic hog wrestling the bow provided us in 2015 I think we should start being better protectors of what we have.I Just cringe every time I see a monster trout with six prongs stuck in his face from a rapala or a monster being bounced all over the rocks or just seeing a fish tied to a stringer. The bow is the most amazing river and I just feel it needs some protection from bad angling habits and agriculture etc.

  5. this is not my area of expertise but I thought I would throw it out there just to maybe get a topic going. In my personal opinion I think the bow river regulations should change a lot also the castle, crowsnest etc the good more popular rivers that are self sustained.I think they should all be catch and release,no barbed hooks,No treble hooks singles meaning one on a common shaft not three on one shaft closed for the spawning of brown trout (bow river) and a couple more just wondering what others thoughts were and I'm not singling out spinner fisherman or the poachers out I'm just giving them a single hook.Just my Friday thought opinions please and no attacks.

  6. Im in the process of building a rowing frame for my zodiac after many hours and planning I came up with a design so I hope it works.Im doing two seats with casting bar and the casting bar can be removed and another seat added.I also have a gas and a electric motor so this is a good thread to maybe get some ideas.Im sure it will work.Older zodiacs are heavier than the newer ones so it should eliminate the wind problem.I could see wind being a problem with a regular inflatable.

  7. I rent mine out once in a while. If I'm not using it that day I consider it easy beer money. He picks it up in the morning and drops it off in the PM. The bow is remarkably easy to navigate. BUT my boat is not in pristine condition, its got some bumps and bruises and I'm not terribly concerned about cosmetics. Of course its a bit of a risk in that it could get sunk or cracked or even in an accident on the road.

    Nothing ventured nothing gained

(to be honest I would consider selling mine if I could rent one for reasonable price, I could use the extra parking spot)

you can store it at my house lol

  8. Saw a couple interesting things both times I went over glen more today.the first thing I saw was a person in waders hand throwing something in the water possibly a thermometer or I have no idea lol did not call rap cause we had no idea what he was doing but it looked like something you see on a survival show.when we came back we seen a truck parked on the bar and two guys practice casting in the middle on the rocks not in the water.Maybe the rock cod were biting I'm not sure. But very interesting both times I'm not sure why people have to do weird things when I'm in a hurry.Im very curious now lol.

  9. I absoulty agree with you vagabond I would never in a million years say anything about launching a boat there.I have done it my self.I think that signs and other methods may or may not work. What really pisses me off when you see the "a" holes parked a foot off the water standing in the back of there trucks haveing a beer and casting 15 pound buzz bombs. If there's any way to start a petition or something to at least get this a little more notest by city councillors or bylaw lets do it.To me it's just a bunch of lazy asses who can't walk 50 yards from the parking lot to the river then decide holy crap this would be great I can show off in my wifes suv. They are just like a bunch of little kids showing off for anybody who will watch.well I guess that was a rant there was no one out there tonight when I went by.I guess I need a Pepsi and a cigar now I'm all worked up.

  10. That's *hit.I see them "a " holes driveing out there all the time.it doesn't matter if your parked there or driveing in the River fluids can leak out of your vehicle and contaminate the River never mind erosion. I wish they would do something about that so that people couldn't drive down there but then again who wants to park in the parking lot where people are breaking into trucks and cars daily.
