  1. You need a retractable key chain like Scheider had on One Day At A Time... https://www.ebay.com/p/Kas-Heavy-Duty-Retractable-Steel-Reel-Recoil-Chain-ID-Holder-Badge-Key-Ring-US/1955493200?iid=141630801369
  2. According to the guy in line at Crappy Tire on Saturday morning, "...the Bow is closed to fishing. I was suppose to float it today but got the call late last night that we're not going.". Haha. Maybe they didn't want you on the boat Senor Blowhard? I didn't want to say anything as I don't mind fishing when no one else is around . And then I was down south on the Old Man the same day, I heard the exact same thing from another person. Maybe we should tell everybody that no more inflatables with loud music are allowed on the Bow either.
  3. Cha-Ching !!! Get ready to buy some fishin' bling!!!
  4. Try telling that to the CFD. They don't give a sh*t about the shoreline or who's wading on the banks. I've near been put under by their wake and all they were doing was giving kids jet boat rides up and down the river with a photographer taking pictures of their happy passengers.
  5. Don't think it was. Saw a Chevy 1/2 ton at the launch when I left so I assumed it was his.
  6. Yaw saw the CO enter the park as I was leaving and assumed he we on his way to the launch. Let us know if you hear back from them and what happened to the guy.
  7. I was upriver from the launch and took some snaps on my camera but I haven't downloaded them to see if they're of any use. Might have been too far away.
  8. Anybody else see what he was doing on the river? Didn't look like he was CFD.
  9. A few years ago I stiffened up a mottled turkey feather to use as wing cases for stoneflies. Well I've used up the last of that feather and need to do another. Does anyone remember what I used to lacquer the feather? I don't think it was head cement as I assume it would make the feather brittle. Flexament perhaps? What do you guys use?
  10. If I left my net at home and I was trying to land a tank of a fish on a 12 foot leader with a indicator I'd be kicking myself. I believe in bringing in a fish as fast as I can and if a net helps to do that then I would wish it was with me. Yes, you can argue it the other way. A net takes the slime off a fish. But I think the stress a fish goes through being hooked is more traumatic than removing it's protective slime. What are you asking Monger?
  11. I have a wading stick holster strapped onto my wading belt and a lot of times the cord gets wrapped around that. I agree that the net is usually the culprit when snagging tree limbs, but this product has a lock where it won't retract at all when snagged. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure what would give first in that situation, the tree limb or the retractor itself... Ha!!
  12. Does anybody know if any Calgary fly shops carry this... I'm sick of my current magnetic net release cord getting caught up in tree branches, wading staff, etc. http://www.gearkeeper.com/flyfish/landingnetretrac.html
  13. I'm looking for a back pack that I can use as a carry on and will hold 2 rod tubes. Would prefer waterproof but not a requirement. I like the Umpqua Surveyor 1100, which will fit my chest pack but it might be a little small. I'd love to spend $400 on a new Simms Z pack but it's not in the budget (~$200). Thoughts/opinions...? and go...
  14. After finally wearing out my first pair of Simms G3 Guide boot with rubber sole, I got a new pair on order.
