I hooked a bat on my backcast twice in one night a few years ago... after the 2nd one we quit fishing for the night.

Try having a look at the online Orvis animated knot guide... The pefection loop is an easy knot to tie and sits straight on the end of your line.

I own an Outcast Fatcat that I like quite a bit. Its bigger than most float tubes and has a very comfortable seat that sits you out of the water. The V-shape pontoon-type style of the tube allows it to move a bit quicker than your average tube... Its very similar to the H3 you mentioned.

A trip like that would be a lot of fun for sure!
