  1. I love getting out on the water, and all I need to worry about is the next cast, the drift. I like how I can lose myself in these things, and then get jerked back to reality when a fish grabs my fly and takes off.
  2. We're getting Thursday off, and I'm taking Friday as a vacation day.
  3. I'd like to have 6 of whatever the fish want, but it rarely works out that way. When I have the right fly, I'm usually losing them to fish, rocks, trees, etc. I never seem to lose flies until I start catching fish.
  4. Well at least you've got this figured out before you start. From the sounds of it, this idea takes awhile to sink in for most. Congrats on the new job.
  5. I would love to, but $500 might as well be $5, 000, 000 as far as my finances are concerned. I'm hoping to scrape together some cash soon, so I can get started tying, but that's a ways off yet.
  6. Have you read the side effects for that stuff? Thanks for that suggestion. Looks good so far. Argentis
  7. Hi guys, I'm getting a little crazy hanging around the house. Due to other stuff in my life, I'm stuck in the house for most of my free time. How do you guys beat the cabin fever? I'd love to be tying flies, but don't have the materials, or the cash to buy some at the moment. Are there any good fishing podcasts or webcasts? Thanks, Argentis
  8. That's surprising to me that a guide would expect you to have your own flies. I have never taken a guided trip, but here are the things I would expect from the trip at a minimum: The guide shows me where to fish. The guide will provide the proper fly for what they are eating. Like others have said, I can't believe that profits are so small that they can't afford to provide a dozen flies or so. I seem to lose a lot, and I don't think I've lost more than that in a day on the water. Argentis
  9. Largemouth bass Pike (I know they're around here, but haven't caught one yet) Bonefish Permit Tarpon And as an aside, how many non-resident folks would have the Bow on their bucket list?
