Awsome footage as usual. Sorry to hear about your dog. My fishing buddy is on his last legs as well. I hope he can make it another season or two. Have you ever thought about a karelian bear dog. http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/karelianbeardog.htm -

I think i will leave the river alone for a while. Anyone know how long the spawn will last? -
I had no idea jack tripper fly fished!
-
Unreal shots bro. Mind blowing as usual.

How would this be any different than steelhead or salmon fishing on the coast. Or for that matter, fishing on the bow while the browns are spawning. Hard to say for sure that no one on this board has caught brown on or near there spawning grounds in the last couple of weeks. Does that make us all guilty of ripping fish off there spawning beds?
-
Knottygirl, I think your catch rates would greatly increase with outfits like that.
-
I see nothing in this video that indicates that these fish were caught on there spawning beds or the use of barbed of hooks, maybe i am missing something here.

I was bored and came across a couple vids. Thought i would share. Click here if the movie does not play. Not actually sure if this one is fishing related. I love the music. Click here if the movie does not play.

That first fish is massive! Well done!

I would be happy to take someone along for a trip as quite often i go alone. Anybody willing to trade up a couple good spots on the crow. Maybe we could fish half a day on the river and the other half on the lake.

Its been a busy summer with work with very little time to do any serious fishing, but i finally broke away and made it to one of my favorite lakes down south. I was on the water and fishing by 10:00. The weather was warm with a slight breeze. As i was rigging up my rod, i noticed this tiny frog trying to climb onto my pontoon boat. I grabbed the camera, snapped a pic, and let him go in the lake. I was watching him swim away thinking, i wonder if the trout eat these little guys, and whamo! a big rainbow came up a smoked him 15 ft away from the pontoon boat. Scared the crap out of me but still one of the coolest takes i have ever seen. As i fished through the day i noticed at least a 100 of these frogs on the lake and the fish were onto them. I tried throwing some big backswimers to try and imitate them, but i had no luck. Anybody on the board ever seen anything like this before? I had a great day fishing besides the fact i had no floating frog patterns. I landed 15 fish losing at least 10 as well. Biggest fish of the day was a 22 inch rainbow, but i lost a couple that were bigger. I also managed to hit the trifecta for this lake for the first time. A rainbow, cuttie, and a brookie.

Nice pics! It was only a matter of time. What do you think you were doing wrong before?

Well I finally made it back to the beautiful elk valley for annual float down the river. Five of us were floating this time around Garth, big Mac, wild Bill, Tom and myself. We floated the line creek to sparwood section. We were on the water by 8:00 and it was a little chilly out. Not much action until about 10:30 when the sun finally started to heat things up a little. Fish were starting to rise. A hatch of mayflies were on the water and I noticed a few nice fish taking everyone that came there way. I quickly tied on my best imitation and tossed a nice cast. Right on cue the cutty slammed it and put up a good fight. I caught 8 fish in total from this hole with the largest being this guy. After an hour the hatch was over so I switched back to my Chernobyl ant and the fish were hitting it hard. It seemed like every hole would produce 3-4 fish. I ended up with 22 fish to the net the largest being 21 inches. The fishing was so good I might have to make another trip out. wild Bill and big Mac on lunch break

That is completely insane. I have to agree with bloom, should of put him on a backboard. -
I personally thought it was OK. Where do you find a dog with no legs? Same place you left him.

Sweet fish bro! Thats one species I'm going to have to land on the fly. Well done!

Ya your right maximum, it is a doggie backpack. Hes to old to carry anything anymore, so what I do is put 2 empty 1 liter bottles in there and it works like a life jacket as well. It also gives me something to grab onto when crossing the river, just to keep him from getting swept downstream. As a side bonus, any pieces of paper or fishing line I see on the river I pick up and put in the pockets. Hes a lab cross, and to be honest Lynn, I don't do anything special. I run him once a day, take him fishing when I can, and feed him better quality pet foods. For some reason the old bugger just doesn't want to quit.
