Penner had a great game, hopefully he can keep it up. Horcoff had a good game too.
Souray has been playing like a norris candidate this year. Definitely the teams MVP so far.

The coach rips on Penner: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=256277
Pretty harsh! But I have to say this is one MacT move that I like
-
I use a 9 foot 5 weight for most of my fishing, from bass lakes to small trout streams, but when it comes to worm and bobber rigs it's too weak and makes the Bow experience not very enjoyable. I think I'll have to pick up a 6 or 7 weight if I fish the Bow as much as I want to this winter.

That is a gorgeous cutty

Good 'ol Scorecoff can't even hit an empty net. Good thing he's only getting paid 5 mil
Actually that was a really solid effort last night until the late meltdown. Cogliano was flying (MacT needs to keep him and Cole together), Gagner looks like he's getting back on track, Roli was solid until his tantrum, Nilsson was good, Reddox was awesome in his 2nd career game. Gilbert and Visnovsky looked a lot steadier. I liked how they kept their play up in the 3rd, the Oil usually sit back on a lead. Frustrating loss but if they keep that effort up they'll be fine.

speaking of inside jokes...there's someone on this thread that needs to 'go away'...
Yes
Those Bill Dance videos are hilarious, I can't help but think some of the scenes were set up though
-
Yeah Gagner looks like he has no confidence left. It was probably too much as an 18 year old to hear all the time about how he's going to be a big star and lead the Oil to glory...way too much pressure.
3 Oilers made the NHL's plays of the week, including 2 Hemsky goals (again ) and MacIntyre's owning of Letang was the #1 hit of the week: http://oilers.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp?catid=4&id=25221

so whats the deal? Did he kick some four legged ass or did he run. Are these dogs stray house pets or coyotes.
He let off a bear banger to scare them away. They were feral dogs from the reserve across the river.

I just found this today, after hearing about a pack of wild dogs roaming Griffith Woods
http://calgary.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTV...hub=CalgaryHome
Pretty intense! I walk through that park all the time and fished there when it was open. I'll be sticking to the main trails for a while.
I came across a mutilated whitetail by the river 2 weeks ago and I wonder if that was the work of this pack. Most likely coyotes but you never know.
-
Oh yeah I forgot this is the lames thread. Congrats Calgary on being tied with the Oilers, and they have only played 1 more game than Edmonton.
-
Yup - I agree. Anyone but Edmonton.
Maybe we could trade them Bert for their rookie goalie though.
Dream on, Deslauriers will be a star for years after Bertuzzi's retired. .951 save percentage, 1.64 gaa - Kipper should pay this kid for lessons

Loved Men for the Mountains, I'll have to check this book out
-
LOL, I think I remember that. Good decision, we clearly have no room or need for you anyways.
I'll remember these words a few years from now when Flamers are scrambling to jump off the bandwagon and looking to cheer for Alberta's real team

So again the question has to be asked, if the perpetrator was your 15 year old meth addicted daughter cranked all up and fighting with the cops would you want her to take a shot by a taser in order to be subdued, perhaps risking death?
Keep in mind that drug and alcohol addiction is considered a disease by todays definition, so essentially what would be happening is the cops would be tasering a person who requires medical help.
I mean come on, we even provide the dope and injection sites in this country so how can we condone the use on one hand and shoot with the other?
(I still say plug em with a .38 right through the eyes but that's just me....)
What kind of cop can't handle a 15 year old girl?
Give 'em more time in the weight room and tazers won't be necessary - just give people resisting arrest a good ol crack in the jaw to drop them.

I've never seen a spot that takes 'countless days' to find talked about on the forums, but maybe I missed it, can you share an example?
Also how does 'putting in their time' make an angler more qualified to fish a certain hole?
I really hate to see people post spots, which are then swarmed by those that haven't put in thier time -
Drive into Fish Creek park, park at Hullswood, walk to the river from there and squeeze into whatever open water you can find. It'll be a gong show but there are plenty of trout to go around. Good luck
-
It's a little worrying how Garon has played lately. I didn't agree with MacT calling him out though, if you're going to blame your goalie you better call out the 'first line center' making 5 mil who is being outplayed by friggin' Marc Pouliot, or Gilbert and Visnovsky for their boneheaded giveaways.

An unbiased, honest comment from an oilers fan? I was beginning to think the oils next mascot was an ostrich. You're clearly slipping snakeman...come to the dark side.
Ha, I remember during the flames cup run I made a post on FFA about how I like the way the flames play and want to cheer for both Alberta's teams...I was immediately shot down with replies about how stupid that would be, how I'm a bandwagon jumper, etc. So that idea died quick but I think Hawgstoppah is pulling it off.
As much as I despise Bertuzzi as a person he is really fun to watch, he makes some crazy passes and that one goal he scored on Deslauriers was sick.
-
Those were a couple of terrible games. Hemsky's goal against Pittsburgh was sick though, Fleury obviously wasn't aware of his hands.
-
Is Loubardias always the commentator for flames games on sportsnet? I can't say I'm a big fan...
-
No? He's having a heck of a lot better season that Erik Cole so far.
Well too bad Kevin Lowe doesn't own a crystal ball
Cole has been a beast since being played in his natural position. He fits the Oilers style better than Bertuzzi.
Bert's been great for the flames though, if he stays healthy for most of the season and keeps up this pace he'll get 30+ for sure. I hope that doesn't happen though
-
Both Hemmer's goals are in the NHL top 10 of the week: http://flames.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp?type...6&catid=597
Smoothest player in the league
-
That Bertuzzi goal was sweet man. I love that guy. I'm still choked the Oil didn't pick him up.
There was no need or room for Bertuzzi.

Hemsky is the man!
