F'in do it. Most parents are total overprotective dorks. If you can't survive in the bush at 15, you won't at 35 either. Go get er done. I used to do 2-3 day solo camp trips when I was 16.

$20/day for non-albertans to fish the bow river would bring in some cash and maybe (but probably not) ease the pressure.

i used to see lots of rattlers at writing-on-stone as a kid, that might make for some fine pictures.

i've sent my sage in three times, it's taken six weeks, four weeks and the last time was two weeks (in the middle of summer). with the $50 plus postage charge each time i figure my rod is now worth close to $500. any takers?

Well I turn 30 on Friday and my wonderful lady friend bought me a pontoon boat. Wow what a woman. Maybe it had something to do with my constant badgering :-)
Picked up the Outcast Fishcat 9-IR. Put it together and I am happy with the purchase. Also picked up an anchor, life vest and grabbed a swivel to upgrade the seat.
I already owned flats wading boots which I will use with some flippers in the future. I think this will be better than the ones that go over your boots.
Plan on giving her the first run this weekend at Bullshead on the TUC trip I won in the auction.
Going to have to come up with a name in the next couple of adventures.
Anyhow does anyone have any suggestions on future upgrades that I should do? (better rod holder etc)
And if anyone is willing (when the water goes down to take a trip to show me the river pontoon ropes that would be awesome.

thanks for the info guys. would you think it's capable of doing what today's 8 wts can do? (pike, steelhead, salmon, etc)

a friend of mine has dug up an old fly rod in his garage but we can't find any information on-line about it. it's a 8'6" berkley para/metric cp40 8wt. it seems to be in nice shape but i don't have anything heavier than a 5wt line so casting it is pointless. can anyone out there shed some light on this mystery? is it fiberglass? is it worth anything? is it a piece of junk?
