  3. Hey, in the fall i posted here about getting into fly tying. After some thought i decided no tot take it up due to the cost. Well last week I went and geared up (using gift certificates). I spent the money on a good vise and some tools and have been having a blast tying and catching fish on some of those flies. So thanks to all for you advice

    New Rod

Ok so her is my dilemma. I currently have some extra cash and have been thinking that a new rod might be in order. I have been fly fishing for 3 years but I fish often. I currently have 9 foot 6 wt temple forks (the green ones haha). Before I buy a rod I plan on going to all the fly shops in town and cast rods from different manufactures and so on. Im not in the market to be spending tons of cash I think if I could find a rod under $400 but closer to $300 would be ideal. The other major question I will be looking to answer is.... will a higher end rod benefit me?What do you get out of a higher end rod i guess is what i really don't know! All insight would be appreciated or if there are some rods you would recommend i would like to hear about it. Thanks To All
  10. These are two of my most memorable fish of the year. The Grayling was one of the first fish i caught this summer \ spring. The cuttie was on a tough day in the mountains i took 3 about this size from the same hole. Some of the best cuts i have ever caught.
  11. Ok so my Dad just recently bought a drift boat and we have had it out a few times. We know where all the boat launches are EXCEPT I cant find legacy island. I have used google maps to look at satellite images to find it to no avail. If anyone could help me out i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Jon

  17. I have been thinking that I would like to start tying flies. I have looked on the internet a bit at vises but I cant seem to find anything in what i would consider a price range for a beginner. Anyway i was just wondering what i could expect for initial cost. Or where i could find an inexpensive vise or any other tips for someone thinking of starting to tie. Thanks Jon
