  1. Hi All, I am planning a trip to Ireland in April and was hoping to get a little fishing in. Does anyone have any experience, advice or recommendations? Don't have any fixed plans yet as to where we will be going. Thanks, James
  2. Can we get tee-shirts with that printed on them?
  3. WOP in Inglewood, if your into something a little exotic.
  4. I think you might be pushing the limits on 'Insider Trading'. Just a thought, but I know guys that's been caught. James
  5. And I was worried about the raccoons. hunting and fishing, more competition all the time.
  6. Thanks All, Sounds like we should be able to figure it out. I've heard the big dorsal fin can make a small fish put up a big fight on light tackle. James
  7. Hi All, I'm heading up into the Athabasca watershead next week for some camping and fishing. I have never fished for Grayling before and am hoping someone can give me a few tips. I am guessing that any gear I might need won't be readily available up there. Thanks, James
  8. Fortunately a buddie and me from getting our fishing gear just in time, so we were able to run along the bank just in case. The big problem was the shale slope turns to uber grease when it gets wet. Even the 4 year old lab had problems getting out
  9. A special thank you to the two brothers that helped us out Sept. 25 at Livingston Falls. The partner in crime slipped into the river at the chute below the falls and ended up stranded on a rock in the middle of the river. The Two guys where able to scramble along the cliff face and help her back to shore. a classic case of "all's well that end's well". Thanks, James
  10. Been out a few times lalely. For the most part fish arn't to picky. Dry's in the morning and evening. Lot's of Brookies near 22, and occasional nice brown.
  11. So maybe a nice shore lunch is occasionally acceptable. Especially when the Brookies are hitting non stop. Would have to leave the Cuttie's alone though.
  12. Hi All, I havn't kept a trout in many years, but whenever I tell someone I caught a few they always ask, especially if I was fishing wild water. So looking at the reg's, in this case for a ES2 stream, I am a little confused: June 16 to Aug. 31 – Trout limit 2; Brown Trout over 40 cm; Mountain Whitefish limit 5 over 30 cm; Bait Ban. So the way I read it is I can keep 2 trout other than brown (and bulls) of any size, but any brown must be 40 cm. So brookies and cutties are fair game any size, up to qty 2? Thanks, James
  13. A few years ago I picked up a Snowbee Jr Classic, 5 wt 7ft for fishing the cutty streams. It seemed like a good idea at the time as I could still use my 5 wt reel and line. It turns out it handles very much like a 3 wt, 7.5 ft TFO setup that I was given a couple years later. I now use it a lot, even on the Bow. The shorter lenght produces far less torque on the wrist and arm, and having suffered a badly broken wrist a long time ago it really makes a difference on how long I can keep on casting. James

    Bug Book!

  15. Judging from the poll, a 29" is possible. I will ask if any photo's were taken. James
  16. Was talking to a neighbor this afternoon who told me a friend of his caught a 9 pounder at policeman's today. I suspect both these guys are hardware fisher's (and very possibly fish exagerators). In any case, for the rest of use who tend to measure fish by length, how long would a bow river trout have to be to be 9 pounds? (didn't mention brown or bow). James
  17. Hi All, Anyone been to Ram Falls Campground recently? Just wondering about the firewood situation. Every year it seems to change. If we bring some , they have lots. If we don't, there is none and it snows. Thank, James
  18. It's the west side of the river, in behind some warehouses. The corner where the stop lights and access road is Ogden and 42nd.
  19. For anyone that parks under or near the CP rail bridges across the street from Bonnybrook STP. I had a wee chat with a CP rail policeman who told me that they will be cracking down on people who park on the private property in that vicinity, specificly down near the rail bridges, and especially under the bridges. He did tell me that there is a parking spot just after you enter the allyway, beside the tracks that it should be OK to park at. You can tell the spot because there are plug-ins along the railing. James
  20. Thanks for the info. Looks like we should be able to find something. James
  21. Hi All, Going to Victoria for a couple days during mid August. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced hotel/motel that allows dogs? We have an 80# lab, and most places I have found only allow small pets. Thanks, James
