  1. Enjoy! Should be a great year for some fishing in the new ride.....I'm getting antsy with mine.....really thinking about Montana this weekend. I'm not a patient person by nature....must travel to find open water.....
    Thanks. Just finished putting her in the garage.

  2. Well in case people are wondering, I bought a used Hyde Pro this afternoon. It's in great shape hardly ever been used. The guy had to sell it because of a medical issue. Pick it to tomorow. Let the good times roll!!!!

    I'd love to take her for a spin, but I think I'll have to wait a couple of more weeks. Lousie isn't taking calls yet. Seems she is down South on vacation and has the spare key for my truck.

  3. For the past 6 months I've been worried as hell about lossing my job, I work for Nova and haven't spent a red cent. However yesterday I started feeling rather optomistic and bought a second Islander reel I've been thinking about. If things continue to look good next spring I'm buying the drift boat (Hyde aluminuim) that I've been thinking about for a few years. My question is how does everyone else feel? Is is too ealry to come out of the shell yet?

  4. Nice one. I thought about fishing this morning but the snow put me off. I was out yesterday morning and saw the water was getting a bit muddy. Only put one small brown in the net.

  5. Maybe it was 50, but im pretty sure harry said it was 60, perhaps he was pulling a fast one on me LOL.
    If you were using Louise Shotton it was $50 last year. By the way, I've been using Louise regularly for a number of years now, with no issues yet. I've finally convinced a couple of my friends to get pontoon boats so I'm hoping this year that I can do our own shuttlling and save some cash.
  6. There are some patterns that I whip out quickly but others that I spend more time on, traditional Catskill dries and Salmon and Steelhead flies can be much more time consuming. I take a certain pride and enjoyment in tying, be it a 5 minute fly or several hours. I enjoy tying which for me is a different category than fishing, often akin to meditation. We are all different and so have our own direction, which is good. But I do believe that after it leaves the bench, like Max said then it's all about casting and presentation. In the end we are, after all, presenting to a wily wild trout, not members of this board for its critical scrutiny. Have fun, experiment in tying and cast a line.
    I agree it has more to do with pride and craftmenship than simply catching fish. Beside I enjoy tying. However, in addition to my premuim flies, I do tie a fair number of SJWs, and other standard go-to flies that keeps my box full.
  7. Max;

    In case you do not know it..You are almost unable to speak english..You might think it is cool. but you come across as a poor, dumb, almost unemployable BUMB..Hope you are enjoying your moment in the sun, Can't wait to see what you become as you age, trout bumb, welder, street person. Whatever...Guide?? ..Please....Grow Up..But of course, this post will not be allowed..

    Why so harsh? The man know his stuff and there is nothing wrong with being a guide. I've been thinking of it myself after I retire...
