  1. Marc-If you were my 12 yr old daughter you would not have seen bladerunner!
  2. 1. Chenille (leggy) stone 2. Caddis 3. Midges 4. SJW (though I almost always have it on for weight) 5. leeches I'm probably short selling the SJW here. But my bet is the leggy stone outfished the worm 5 to 1 for me this year.
  3. And Eagleflyfisher (southbow!)
  4. Liked the movie, though the plot was totally secondary. The point was to introduce you to the new characters, and set things up so they can do what they want. My 12 yr old daughter LOVED it. We have since rented most of the old movies (can't find a few of the original movies, and 1 of the next gen movies) and watched them together. She watches the old series and new ones. Finally, I got my science fiction geek. That and vampires.
  5. Ok, you got me. I used to spin records on WKRP. A little piece of insider information is Loni Anderson didn't mind slumming from time to time!!! And Herb Tarlek was a great guy to get drunk with. Here is the latest and final shot: (Fundraiser closes on Monday!) Looks like utter crap, again.
  6. Folks, BBT now has 25 raffle tickets in each draw. For the math challenged, that makes $500.00. That's a little over half the total tickets.
  7. New timeline=they can do whatever they want with no constraints from the old series.
  8. I gotta say I found Mr. Janke's article extremely disappointing. The jist was what? Conservatives are mostly realists in the best sense of the work and liberals are mostly idealists in the worst sense of the word? Not too damn surprising coming from a conservative paper. The world needs idealists and realists. No political party (or I should amend with mainstream political party) has a monopoly on either. To imply they do is pretty myopic on the part of Mr. Janke. But it's easy for him, since I'm sure he considers himself a conservative realist.
  9. Thanks Smitty!
  10. 90% you think? Seems a bit high to me. Amazing that I never had an ignorant ***hole for a landlord. Just lucky I guess. But since I'm a landlord now, I guess I hope I fall in the 10%!
  11. And Brewingup.
  12. Thanks Simpson! Uber will be feeling some "heat" (get it? A global warming funny!)
  13. This debate is almost exclusively right side vs left side. And I agree with Smitty-it's not hard to find instances where scientific integrity is lacking. And 15 minutes? The man was in the public eye for what? 20 some odd years? How could you possibly know what his motivation is? Most of the "anti-Gore" stuff started in his presidential campaign (the one where he got the most votes, but somehow GW became president, again), driven by the right. Find anything you can and slag the guy method (practiced by the left as well). While I have not always agreed with his politics, I've always found him very well informed and very well intentioned.
  14. Interestingly enough Dan, I just happen to be raffling a Midge rod for my cancer fundraiser. Good cause and a chance at the rod you "designed"
  15. Happy Birthday Mr. Administrator!
  16. Did Taco just agree with the artist formerly known as Tako? Someone, quick, check the temperature in Hell! We are going skiing!! BTW, I thought the question was legit and the personal attacks of the responses were disappointing. And for the record, I voted keep fishing.
  17. I don't agree. I think he completely believes what he is saying. Whether or not you agree with his politics, it's hard to see where he is doing this for his own benefit. And while I've never claimed any sort of expertise on this subject, and don't know why I wasted my time on this subject again, the preponderance of the evidence is certainly on his side. Doesn't make him correct, but doesn't make him wrong either. By the way, he's donated 100% of the profits of the book to spreading his message. I don't see the personal gain. If anyone tells me how much he's making on the speaking circuit (and I have no idea if he does or not), I would counter with he would have made that anyway. He was VP, and won a presidential election, almost.
  18. Never understood the rancor against Gore. Unless someone bought into the right wing bs that he ever said "I invented the internet". Total BS on the part of the Republican party. Here is a quote from the man who is considered the "father of the internet" defending Gore: Vint Cerf response on MSNBC So Gore grew up rich, like Bush. Grew up in a political family, like Bush. Went to Vietnam, very much unlike Bush who to some reports spent his military career drunk a lot and in Alabama. Won the popular vote in a presidential election against Bush. So where exactly is the lack of credibility? He seems committed to what he is doing. Don't give me the weak crap about how big his house is (rich and always has been, remember). He spends much of his time working for something that, to all appearances, he completely believes in. He has never seemed the type to me that did things for personal gain. He didn't need to. Whether or not you agree with his position should not mean you should doubt his commitment or credibility.
  19. Overrated? Not so sure. Sun was sick for what? Two weeks? Flu then pneumonia. While maybe not life threatening for him, I'd rather skip it if I have the choice.
  20. Bumping this up too. < 1 week to go!
  21. bumping this up. < 1 week to go. I just wanted to add that this is a totally new raffle. If you've already donated to the other, it is stand alone. Thanks to everyone so far!
  22. Had it yesterday. Other than a bit of a sore arm, not reaction at all.
