fishfreak Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Let's hope that money is put into good use on the Elbow. I'd love to see that fishery improve. Quote
Garlicmarshmellow Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I fished the elbow on Sunday below 22 and there seemed to be good quantities of fish, especailly browns. That brown on my avatar was caught there on Sunday. Lots of walking between holes and braided channels everywhere. The problem with the Elbow in that region is lack of good holding water. I did notice a high amount of stone shucks near the shoreline compared to previous years. All fish were released including some hog whites. Quote
fishfreak Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Thanks for the report GM. Yeah, I know that there are pockets of decent fishing in the area, but I also hope that, with some work, the Elbow can get as good as its cousins to the south. Gorgeous brown by the way. The colours are awesome! Quote
Garlicmarshmellow Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Maybe if the people in Bragg creek do their part more, there might be more nutrients to enhance bug activity. I would love to see the Elbow produce more consistently. Where we were there were hardly any tracks except for the elk but it was pretty scarce habitat. Hopefully the money goes to good use on the elbow. Quote
trailhead Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 The Elbow downstream of 22 could be as good as streams like Fallentimber etc. It does have poaching issues and is a bit of a freestone river. But there are some hogs in there, of various species. Quote
