MMAX Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Made it out for my 3rd trip of the year. Being a new dad really cuts into my fishing time but I have no complaints. Despite the heat had a great day with about 10 browns to hand. My only competition was the family of 4 otters and a Blue Heron that seemed content to always keep one pool ahead of me. Here's a few pics from the day... Beautiful sunny day didn't seem to bother the browns alot Fished stimulators with bead head pheasant tail droppers, ratio was about 50/50 This little guy saw his life flash before his eyes. Just as I was about to net him a huge brown emerged from the depths and thought he had an easy lunch. I've heard of bulls doing this but there was no point tying on a streamer to try to catch him. Once he saw me he was done for the day. This guy taped out at about 16". He was pretty scarred up but was a strong fish. Looked like either an otter or a pike tried to take a bite out of him. Note the heron tracks in the sand. Quote
