Great Place To Fly Fish This Time Of Year?

Recommended Posts

Hello:

My fishing buddy and I are in Calgary and are looking at fly fishing for 4 days starting this Wednesday. Does anyone have any great ideas where a great place to camp a trailer and fly fish would be this time of year? We would like to fish both lakes using a small boat and rivers using waders somewhere in either Alberta or BC. If you have a great suggestion please reply we would like to hear any ideas from all you friendly, witty and experienced Fly Fishermen who frequent this website.

Thank you,

Nick

Down in the Crowsnest area would be perfect - you've got the Crow, lower Oldman, Lees lake, Beauvais lake, Beaver Mines, and more lakes a bit farther out. Camping can be found near the Crow at the Hiawatha campground, or head down towards the West Castle ski area. Police Outpost is also another option, though its farther away from the streams. http://www.crowsnestangler.com/mainpanel.p...on_sidebar=home would have more info on what's hot down there. They've posted that runoff is starting on the Crow, so it may not be the best option.
