Keith
I am trying to find some information on irrigation draw from the Bow. Can anyone tell me what percentage of the Bow is diverted for irrigation? Or point me in the direction of that info?
SQUATCHER
sorry...no idea even where to look. curious though, why would one need such info?
headscan
http://www.brid.ab.ca/ Maybe they have the info you're after.
jksnijders
http://www.eid.ab.ca/ A little more upstream, and there is also Carseland, obviously.
Pipestoneflyguy
Try TUC, I suspect they could tell you.
Keith
I'm surprised this info is so hard to find, but after a lot of searching I'm drawing a blank. You'd think the water allotments of the various irrigation districts would have to be public info.
Pipestoneflyguy
I'm suprised TU wasn't able to help you - I would be amazed they don't have that data You may have to tackle the problem in components (regions) - I know in the national park any draw is done by license so you should be able to determine this by contacting Parks Canada and using access to information, same thing for cities. I've come across this type of data in various studies etc etc, sorry I can't specifically remember where I saw it though.
trailhead
Try the Alberta Environment department. They have a water license user page on their website, but it's not up and running because there is no water in the canals. So here is the information query env.infocent@gov.ab.ca Good luck
Weedy1
Try this: http://www.brbc.ab.ca/issues2.asp 2005 data: Look at chapter 1, page 8, it may get you strated in the right direction. http://www.brbc.ab.ca/pdfs/Chapter01.pdf Also chapter 2, starting at page 28. (76.35% of the total water allocation from the Bow is for irrigation.) http://www.brbc.ab.ca/pdfs/Chapter02.pdf Table 2.
