Pearsall's Silk

Conor

Recommended Posts

I was getting mine out of Edmonton last year and since I moved back to this part of the country several years ago. Prior to that I got it in Quebec for years as it was readily available near the base.

My Edmonton source is out of business now but I won't be needing any for quite a while now.....probably get from out east again when needed unless some one local starts carrying it.

Hi Conor, I assume you're tying wets. Been checking around lately myself as I'm out for this season. Cant find anyone in Alberta or BC. I will most likly order from greatfeathers, or Stockards. Experimenting with some 100% pure silk that you can get in Calgary. I'll let you know how it works out if it's as transparent when it gets wet.

It is for whipping rods, actually, but I know it is commonly used for wets, so I figured some tyers might know where to get some. I've got a rod that I want to finish whipping, but I am going to run out of silk!

I noticed that Hareline is a distributor. Next time I'm in a shop with Hareline products, I'll ask for it. If you guys do the same we might get some to Calgary!
