trailhead Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Hey, I have a jar of head cement that is a bit too thick and viscous for my liking. I thought there was thinner that you can buy, but have been having a tough time trying to find any. So anyone know where I can pick some up or what I could use as a substitute? Thanks Quote

sirocco Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 There's cement out there called Head strong and it has a sister product called Head Strong Thinner. Distributed by Springbrook so it would be available through most major shops in town. But I haven't heard of any general thinners. Quote

Leroy Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 I use Sally hansen Hard as Nails with nylon and finger polish thinner. Very inexpensive and easy to get. The gals at Wal Mart will look at you kind of funny, but who cares. Quote

JMasson Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Zap-a-Gap, I have yet to find a stronger, more adhesive glue. Who cares what the head looks like, the fish certainly don't. They're for fishing not for showing. I'm not familiar with the brand of cement you're using so I can't really offer any advise on a thinner to use. Possibly nail polish thinner....that's really just acetone though but it might work. I'd definitely recommend calling the manufacturer though. Quote

The only place I have found laquer and thinner is a place called "Belaire". 1 Litre at a time and I mix it about 50 50 in a baby food jar, glass with a metal lid. I have to agree with the Zap-a-Gap great adhesive and much faster to set then laquer. Quote
