Pipes
Anyone try using ice dub for dry flies. Was thinking of trying some peacock caddis with ice dub instead of herl.
Flytyer
Why wouldn't someone not try it? I have done exactly what you are thinking of and others as well, dry stones and salmonflies just to name a couple.
Pipes
Was wondering about performance compared to herl. Specifically, how well it floats after being dunked a few times, durability and just basic performance under water. Personally, I think herl still looks better when fishing under surface. I also find durability of the herl to be good if you wrap it around your thread. Just was looking for feedback.
admin
I use it all the time. The peacock colours on caddis dries. Works pretty good and you can get a few different colours rather than the dark herl. Look for the Canadian Dubbing Brand's Bronze Olive, it's my favourite color to use. SilverDoctor
Works great, I use it on Caddis and mayfly egg sacks. Give it a shot.
