theiceman2
I have a 1982's 4 piece Kunnan graphite Advantage 4-5wt fly rod that I was given to me by my father. I usually fish my Fenwick graphite 6-7 wt on the Bow, but was considering using the Kunnan for smaller streams as a light action pack rod. I heard the Kunnan switched to golf shafts in the earily 90's due to a fire in their asian plant. My question for the board is does graphite age well, IE dry out, become brittle? Am I at a greater risk to break this 30 year old rod due to its age if it is still in original condition and always stored in it's case? Or am I better off just mounting it on the wall as a keep sake? Matt
bigbowtrout
I would fish it until it breaks then stick it on the wall next to a photo of a nice fish caught on that rod.
