Measure-nets

Recommended Posts

I have one of those nets that has the tape measure belts right into the mesh where you just add the numbers on the two ends. For those of you that use them, how are they for landing fish that are larger than what they are intended to measure? They don't seem very deep, so I'm thinking they may be difficult to land larger fish with. What is everyone here's experience with them for larger fish?

I have the one with the scale up to 30" (15" on each "side" of the net). Haven't had any troubles landing the big trout. Haven't landed any 30"ers in there mind you lol. Biggest I have caught, and used that net for, was probably 27"
