Just wanted to add, one of the guys has changed his date from the Saturday to the Sunday, so i have one place left for anybody wanting to get into Speycasting available on the Saturday. Gordon. Quote
reevesr1 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Minus 7, High winds, 80% chance of snow. Good luck with that boys! Quote
CrisD Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Any chance of moving the class back a week, at -7 the learning curve would be a flat line, and all you will catch is a cold. Quote
speyghillie Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 Thats almost Tropical weather, can't do anything about the date i'm here now, i might need another t shirt with that weather, just looked at the forcast and its going to be cold, but no high winds. Gordon. Quote
speyghillie Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 Hi Guys, I can't change the dates, but i figure you guys will manage a bit of cold weather. Gordon. Quote
alhuger Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Guys, I just finished out a day of instruction w/ Gordon (it was short because I have to work today). Do not let the snowfall fool you, the river was fantastic with little to no wind in the area we were and the snow was no problem. Plenty warm. In fact, fish were rising all of the place! So don't sweat tomorrow. I wish I could go actually. al Quote
maxwell Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 see you sunday gordy.. looking forward too it..... rain or snow....... welcome too canada eh! Quote
maxwell Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 well if u are a winter steelheader...... it is a beautiful day Quote
Brownstone Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I wish I was steelin' .. I'll get my fix o bad weather when i go chasing bullets on da rock Quote
headscan Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Looking forward to tomorrow. Just gonna layer up the same as I do when I fish in January and February. It'll be perfect practice for winter run steelheading - the kind of day that separates the hardcore from the pantywaists. Quote
cheeler Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I hope I found all the leaks in my waders..... Quote
ogilvie Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Have fun tomorrow you guys...the weather here on the Island isn't much better...our rivers are very low again and that holds the Steelhead in the deep water pools and they are not going to budge until the melt begins...perhaps next week. If you can find time Gord email me FIngerless gloves..ouch C Quote
ogilvie Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 How did the day go..Had to work at the shop today so didn't have a chance to fish until after 4 pm...the sky was blue,no winds and the Coast Mountains were very visable across the Straight. Hooked into a major Cutthroat Trout near the mouth of the Big Qualicum River, snapped my leader like it was string. However, Nanaimo,30 miles to the south, had more than a foot of Snow today and had to close several of the main roads in order to clean them...Reminds me of Calgary somewhat...Hope you all had a great time C Quote
speyghillie Posted April 20, 2008 Author Posted April 20, 2008 Hi Guys, Due to the weather i will have to cancel today, i was really hoping to do something today but the weather is just wild with that wind. I will try and pick another date, but its just hopeless in this weather. Gordon. Quote
