cohod Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Hi. I guess I should introduce myself… Originally from van isle in cow town for the last 6 years, wow time flies. Steelhead was my main thing but salmon on the fly is a close second. Open ocean fly caught Coho, springs… if you haven’t tried it you really really should! cohod Quote

NormanMcLean Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Sounds like another long-sticker to invade the Bow. I wonder how much of an influence from BC steelheaders and Atlantic salmon fishers have had on the 'recent' Bow spey trend? Quote
Guest bigbadbrent Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 I'd say that 98% of the spey trend started cause of that. Quote

I wonder how much of an influence from BC steelheaders and Atlantic salmon fishers have had on the 'recent' Bow spey trend? I can tell you spey is not at all popular among the Atlantic fisherman in Newfoundland Welcome Cohod Quote

cohod Posted March 8, 2008 Author Posted March 8, 2008 I do have a two hander but i hav'nt used it on the bow. it's an 8wt 14ft g lomis great rod for bigger fish a liitle much for the bow i think what are all you spy folks using? thanks for the welcom all cohod Quote
cheeler Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Welcome to the board. Popular rods here are in the 12'-13.5' range in 5-7 weights, depending on what you're using em for. I've got a 12'6" Deer Creek that I'm learning to spey cast with, and a 10'6" 7/8 switch rod for streamers. Just do a search in the Spey Casters Lounge, there's tons of info in there. Quote
