Din Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 I like! Mind sharing the recipe? Hook: Daichi scud sz 16 tail and shuck(?): olive ice fur. pulled loosely over top of beads body: 3-4 killer caddis beads depending on size of hook and beads wing: elk hair Head/thorax: peacock ice dub Quote
Lundvike Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Did you tie the head first then slide the beeds on and then tie the tail? or did you tie over the beeds? Quote
Din Posted February 19, 2008 Author Posted February 19, 2008 carl, this is what i did... slipped the beads on first. tie in ice fur on the tail fold back over itself wrap thread 3-4 times. push beads back to touch tail then bring thread over the beads and do a couple wraps to keep the beads in place. pull over ice fur. tie in small amount of elk. then ice dub. Lundvike Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I was going to try your pattern because it looks great. I had tied golden stones with beads for a swap and I had tied the head portion slipped on the beads and then tied the tail. Quote

Thanks, have yet to try them so can't vouch for them..but i do like the way they look. Your way would work too just more steps to tie off and restart. either way its a fairly simple tie. Mitch Quote
