adams Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Hi, I've been using an old pair of my wader booties (cut off) as my wet wading liner, and I've got too much water staying in my boots (despite poking holes in the booties) making them heavier than they should be. There is also a lot of space between the top of the booty and my shin, which may be letting in even more water? I'm finding it very tiring in my old age, and I'd like to get more efficient energy wise. Does anyone have a recommendation for a proper neoprene liner? AI says the Simms Guide Guard Socks are good, but don't really trust AI. Thanks Adams Quote
snuffy Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Simms socks are good, as are Patagonia. You can also save a few $$ buying paddling versions from MEC Quote
bowbonehead Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago best to try on first as sizing is not always bang on ..... I have been using the simms for years with a wader sock underneath to help fill up the wading boot as they are sized to accommodate a neoprene boot foot from a wader..... ie I have a size 12 boot and a 11.5 foot. Keep in mind that the socks come in different thickness usually 3mm or 5mm Quote
MikeL Posted 56 minutes ago Posted 56 minutes ago I have used the same pair of MEC neoprene socks for at least 15 years. They work great. Quote
