wayne Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 I'm looking to replace the line on my 9' 5wt x-axis and a shop recommended going with a 6wt Wf hardy horizon line. Does anyone have any experience with this line? Personally I've never heard of it but he swears by it. I'm replacing the current SA GPX 5wt Wf Thanks Wayne Quote
ÜberFly Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Yeah I made that mistake once when a shop swore that a Loop Line was the best line ever! . Turned out to be the crappiest line ever!! Go with what you know!! p Quote
Taco Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 About 5 yrs ago I picked up on clearance a DT Hardy Marksman 4wt line that I fish and abuse a lot. I finally reversed it on the reel last yr and don't expect I'll need to replace the line until 2020. Quality line, I wouldn't hesitant to buy another Hardy line. 1 Quote
professori Posted August 19, 2018 Posted August 19, 2018 Ask them if they will spool it up for you and let you test cast it a few times. It might be the best line in the world for the casting style of the shop guy but you might not care so much for it. Remember one man's gold is another man's garbage. Quote
