hydropsyche Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Hi Brent. I just wanted to let you know that I just finished tying up about 2 dozen of those. I used black ice dub instead but other then that, they are the same. On the last few, I made a slight modification. It was one of those "why didn't I (or anyone else) think of this before" mods. I want to test it this spring before revealing what that mod was. Quote
Guest bigbadbrent Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 cause its similar, but not even near the same (the similarity ends at the biot tails..) Quote
jonny5 Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 vs The reason I am pointing this out is because I find it funny that someone would add shell back to a famous fly and give lessons on how to tye it. Maybe I will start tying the Jonny-5-Curlies caddis (it has a dark and bushy wing) Quote
Guest bigbadbrent Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 no white biots, no peacock/ostrich, no hackle, no gold rib.. I was also asked to do this, i didn't just do it for the hell of it. My fly is more evil weevil then it is prince nymph. Anyone that ties, knows that the white biots ARE the prince nymph, thats what makes that fly Quote
maxwell Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 lmao a bugs a bugs abug...hell i was told i wasnt tying the evil weevil by davies himself cuz i had teh wrong colors..too each his own...its a freakin beedhead nymph like most u find in any flyshop...nice tutorial brent...keep it up dude... I agree, and it's probably impossible to come up with a completely original fly these days anyway. Nice fly Brent. Quote
